Today is the first session we will be teaching to the participating children of the Children´s University project in Northumberland. A lot of schools in Northumberland are taking part, and today we will be at St. Pauls Primary school in Cramlington, Northumberland. (we were told St. Peter´s but that is later this month).
The Children´s University is a fantastic programme to encourage children to become involved in after school activities. Obviously we are offering the martial arts training for the university. When the participating children attend a particular activity, they receive a stamp on their passport. This shows the organisers that they have attended the activity and participated satisfactorily. When the children have received the correct amount of "University Stamps" they will attend the actual Newcastle University for a graduation ceremony. The children will wear the gowns and caps in the same way as graduating adults will be wearing the items. They will then have exactly the same type of university graduation ceremony that the adults participate in when receiving their doctorate certification. This is a fantastic programme to encourage children to participate in after school activities, and we at Hi Energy Martial Arts Academy are proud to be taking part in the Children´s University.
We are looking forward to today´s session at St. Paul´s Primary school and we have been informed that there will be around 60 children in attendance. The great thing for ourselves is that we are able to demonstrate our professional tuition methods to the actual people that we want to help with our classes. This is a real win, win situation. At this moment in time, we will be working with 5 Northumberland schools and hopefully more will participate as the Children´s University Programme continues throughout the school year. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of children taking part and actually going through the graduation ceremony. This in itself will be a wonderful experience for all of them.
